About Me

I am a partner at Tango, a private investment company located in Boulder, Colorado.  I have been with Tango for over 10 years, during which time we have been investing in both the public and private markets, and helping entrepreneurs launch, finance and scale their businesses.

I am also currently a Principal in High Country Venture, the general partner of Colorado Fund, a venture capital fund that invests in early stage companies in Colorado (and is run out of Tango’s offices).  The Colorado Fund has a fairly diversified portfolio with an emphasis on technology and life sciences. To read more about the Colorado Fund and our portfolio of companies, you can go here.

Prior to Tango, I was a lawyer in the Denver office of Hogan & Hartson, where I practiced corporate law and represented various private equity firms and early stage companies trying to raise capital.  I am still a lawyer, and although I occasionally dispense legal advice to the companies I work with, I no longer charge in 6 minutes increments.

I am also a member of the Board of Directors of Global Education Fund, a non-profit organization located in Boulder that is dedicated to improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children around the world through education.  I am very proud of all that GEF has accomplished and continues to accomplish.  If you are interested in learning more about GEF, you should go here.

When I’m not working, I try to enjoy the fact that I live in Colorado.  I’m an avid fly fisherman, a full time father and a struggling golfer.  My family and I are lucky enough to live in Niwot, Colorado, where we enjoy spectacular views of the Flatiron Mountains and Long’s Peak on a daily basis.

Also, late at night, I’ve been know to sneak out to my office, plug in my Gibson Les Paul, and attempt to sound like Jimi Hendrix.
