About this site

The purpose of this blog is to offer insights and opinions on matters relating to venture capital, investment strategy, start-up companies, entrepreneurs, life in Colorado, and other topics that may be of interest.  My hope is that the dialogue can be somewhat interactive, and not just one long stream of consciousness by yours truly.  In addition to my own thoughts, my hope is to occasionally encourage (or badger) some of the talented people I work with (including partners, co-investors and entrepreneurs) to appear as guest authors.  I would also encourage you, the readers, to chime in and enhance the conversation with your own comments, if and when you are so moved.

So why call a blog about venture capital investing “The River?”  Well, I think the name conveys a sense of meandering, ongoing, ever-changing dialogue.  Per my comments above, this is what I hope to achieve.  In addition, I spend as much time as possible standing in rivers around Colorado with a fly rod in my hand (another topic which I will try to touch on from time to time).  Finally, it’s a great album.   If you haven’t listened to it recently, you really should.

As a lawyer, it is also my obligation to tell you that all of the thoughts and opinions expressed on this website belong strictly to me, or the person who wrote them.  Nothing written here should be attributed to, or affiliated with, Tango, the Colorado Fund, High Country Venture or any other group or organization that I may, from time to time, represent.  Please do not rely on anything you read here as legal advice, investment advice, or anything other than my personal opinion.
